ClickUp Integration

Timing's integration with ClickUp lets you view when you completed tasks on your timeline and suggest their task titles when creating time entries. This provides you with additional context for when you worked on specific tasks throughout your day, enabling more accurate time tracking.

In addition, with Timing's Connect edition, you can also sync your time entries back to ClickUp, ensuring that ClickUp gives you the complete picture of both your tasks and the time you spent on them.

Learn how to set up and use this integration below.

Getting Started

To set up this integration, first make sure that you have set up a sync account in Timing.

Then, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to the Timing Web App using your sync credentials.
  2. Navigate to the Integrations / Apps page and click "Connect with ClickUp".
  3. Authenticate with ClickUp and select the workspace you want to import. If you have the Connect edition of Timing, you can also enable the option to sync your time entries back to ClickUp.
  4. Decide whether you want to import tasks from all lists or only specific ones, giving you control over which tasks appear on your timeline. This allows you to e.g. only import tasks from your "Work" list, ensuring that your timeline is relevant to your current projects and does not include personal tasks.
  5. Wait for the import and sync to complete (may take up to 10 minutes).
  6. In Timing, you will now see on the timeline when you completed a task in ClickUp. And when you create a new time entry in Timing, you can select your ClickUp tasks in the auto-complete list.
  7. If you have enabled the option to sync your time entries back to ClickUp, create a time entry in this fashion and wait about 10 minutes for the time entry to sync back to ClickUp.

Troubleshooting

I don't see some of my ClickUp tasks in Timing

Timing only imports tasks that had some activity in the last 30 days, so if you have not worked on a task in ClickUp for a while, it will not appear in Timing. To work around this, you can edit the task in ClickUp and wait for up to 15 minutes for the task to appear in Timing.
