{"id":1548,"date":"2021-01-05T16:00:41","date_gmt":"2021-01-05T15:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timingapp.com\/blog\/?p=1548"},"modified":"2023-10-25T12:49:21","modified_gmt":"2023-10-25T10:49:21","slug":"timing-teams-share-projects-time-entries-with-entire-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timingapp.com\/blog\/timing-teams-share-projects-time-entries-with-entire-team\/","title":{"rendered":"Introducing Timing for Teams: Share Projects and Time Entries with Your Entire Team!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/help\/images\/teams\/reports_small_simple.png\" width=\"700\" height=\"350\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We are happy to announce the release of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/updates.timingapp.com\/download\/Timing.dmg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Timing 2021.1<\/strong><\/a>, featuring\u00a0<strong>Timing for Teams!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Timing for Mac has always been a great way to track your time as an individual.<br \/>\nHowever, so far it has been cumbersome to coordinate your Timing projects across multiple team members.<br \/>\nGathering timesheets from all team members has also been a difficult task, with a lot of emailing to collect all the needed reports.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s where the <strong>brand-new\u00a0Timing for Teams<\/strong> comes in.<br \/>\nIt lets you <strong>share projects with team members<\/strong> and <strong>view their time entries<\/strong>\u00a0in the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.timingapp.com\/\">Timing web app<\/a>.<br \/>\nAnd with the year having just started,\u00a0<strong>now is the ideal time to get your team&#8217;s time tracking in order!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Read on for more information on how the new feature works, and how you can get the most out of it!<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>First,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.timingapp.com\/teams\/create\">open the Timing web app<\/a>\u00a0and set up a team and invite team members.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have done that, you will see your team in the sidebar of Timing for Mac.<br \/>\nThere, you can create projects that are then shared with all other team members:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/help\/images\/teams\/project_list_team_annotated.png\" width=\"253\" height=\"138\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After your colleagues have joined the team, they can\u00a0<strong>record time towards the projects you shared with them<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>You can then <a href=\"https:\/\/web.timingapp.com\/reports?columns%5B0%5D=user&amp;columns%5B1%5D=project&amp;columns%5B2%5D=title&amp;include_team_members=true&amp;sort_by=-duration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">view the tasks they created<\/a> in the Timing Web App:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/help\/images\/teams\/reports_small_simple.png\" width=\"700\" height=\"350\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Please note that, for privacy reasons, you will <em>not<\/em> be able to view other team members&#8217; app usage.<br \/>\nInstead, <strong>team members need to create tasks<\/strong> (i.e. manual time entries) that summarize the blocks of time during which they worked.<br \/>\nLuckily, <a href=\"https:\/\/timingapp.com\/blog\/fine-tune-your-time-tracking-by-creating-tasks\/\">Timing makes it very easy to create tasks<\/a>, with features that automatically <a href=\"https:\/\/timingapp.com\/help\/2-reviewing-your-day#tasks\">suggest<\/a> or even <a href=\"https:\/\/timingapp.com\/help\/task_o_matic\">create tasks for you<\/a>, or even\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/timingapp.com\/blog\/timing-2018-4-calendar-integration-weekend-mode-project-colors-and-more\/\">import your calendar entries<\/a> as tasks.<\/p>\n<h2>Next Steps<\/h2>\n<p>This was just a quick introduction to our new &#8220;Teams&#8221; feature.
